One of the earliest craft breweries in Brazil, Colorado was Founded in 1995. Rather than trying to make copies of American and other types of craft beers, we embrace our Brazilian heritage with its rich and joyous traditions, to make beers that could have come from nowhere else. We meticulously select malt and hops and combine them with ingredients like coffee, rapadura (unrefined Brazilian cane sugar), mandioca (cassava flour), honey and Brazil nuts.
Adventurousness, originality and a great spirit of cameraderie are also added to the mix.
We are located in a sugar cane growing region a few hours drive north of São Paulo, in the city of Riberão Preto (HEE-ba-row PRAY-to, literally "black river"), perhaps the most important Brazilian brewing city in bygone days, a result of an extremely high quality water supply from the Guarany aquifer.
We have romantic ideas and are inspired by tradition, but our brewery is very modern, with high quality equipment from the United States, Canada and Brazil.
Colorado Brewery’s mission is to expand upon beer culture and give clients
more choice, offering them high-quality beers, different from the predominant
standards, at a reasonable price.
We advocate the consumption of alcoholic beverages as an important
and traditional element in social connection.
We repudiate this same consumption if done in an irresponsible and
We respect those who respect beer.
Each month, Colorado Brewery donates 500 liters of chope (draft beer) to
philanthropic organizations, NGOs, cultural movements and social assistance
programs and charities.
We love visitors, so if you find yourself in Riberão Preto, please call us, or visit our specialty beer bar, Cervejarium, in the same town.
